PATINOIRE

This sports facility project is located in the Bouregreg Valley, a landscape that has become a key unifying element in the urban development of the Rabat-Salé metropolis. Positioned along the riverbanks near the Mohammed VI Tower, the building is designed as a luminous monolith — a bold yet delicate presence that establishes a new dialogue between nature and architecture.

Inspired by the physicality of skating — its speed, agility, and elegance — the architecture condenses these energies into a sculptural form. The structure appears as a light-filled rock anchored to the river’s edge, balancing mass and lightness through its translucent glass envelope. Visible from the surrounding cities, roads, and river, it becomes an urban landmark that glows day and night.

Strategically placed on an elevated platform, the project maintains a respectful distance from the tower while activating the riverfront promenade. With its faceted volume, landscape integration, and refined materiality, the building blends harmoniously with its context, offering an immersive experience for both athletes and visitors alike.
